On March 19th, WCEDA will host an event at Geneva National Golf Course from noon to 1:30. Boxed lunches will be provided to make for a working lunch.
It will feature a brief discussion of workforce development from a state-wide perspective, with particular attention on the efforts that are being done in the schools, both to prepare students for careers and to make them aware of career opportunities in their local communities. There will be a reaction panel made up of key employee sectors, an administrator, a career counselor, a student, and a representative from the technical college. The goals are to first illustrate the efforts that are being done within the county, then talk about innovative approaches that are being done elsewhere, and finally discuss what more can be done to further engage schools with businesses.
This is a vital link toward feeding the employee pipeline of tomorrow and a great way to meet the key players face-to-face. Click here for more information.
